Two weeks ago, I was at a youth conference for the seventh year in a row. I’ve seen myself, how I’ve matured and come along way since when I began my journey in the Lord. It brought the fear of God into me to never let that fire burn out, no matter how older that I get, or despite what may come my way. I saw a lot of young people, and I realized the importance and how necessary it is to be around them, because they carry an innocent passion for God, something that I always yearn and desire to keep, no matter how older I may get. I hope this poem ministers to you! I wrote in during the conference!
May this passion inside my heart
Light up a torch that remains inside of me
A yearning fire, and hunger for God
That never burns out inside of me
Come revive and reset this flame
That despite the trials that come my way
Or no matter how older I may get
This craving for God shall never end
Transcend the circumstances that I face
Beyond the struggles, beyond the pain
Take me out of this binding maze
I want to be free from every chain
May this fire that I have for God
Never burn out
That despite the devil’s wicked rains
Or despite the failures that I endure
Your love, inside of me, remains
It gives me the grace to always endure
May this passion and flame for God
Never burn out
That thirty years along the road
My passion keeps stirring and burning for more
That no matter the season, I never conform
That I’m always searching, and after for more
Let it burn with trials
Let it never burn out
Let it burn with mistakes
Let it never burn out
Let it burn for prayer
Let it never burn out
Let it burn with age
Let it never burn out
Let it burn for Jesus
Let it never burn out
Let it burn when it’s finally over
Let it never burn out
