Last week on Feb. 21, Rev. Billy Graham passed away. Known as “America’s pastor,” he was a pioneer in the faith who paved a way for many people to receive Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. God used him to help shape Christianity to be what it is today. Throughout his life, this man of God remained steadfast and persevered. He didn’t stop preaching Jesus. His greatest desire was to be with him. Now he is with Jesus forever. I can only imagine the power standing ovation that was received when he went to heaven. Although I haven’t really heard an entire message of his, I think it’s impossible to be a Christian and not hear about the evangelistic anointing this man carried. He had the grace to fill crusades, preach the word, and lead many souls to Christ throughout his life time. This is something to admire, and to look up to. In honor of what he’s done, I wanted to share a few quotes that were shared by him in his sermons.
My home is in Heaven. I’m just traveling through this world.
Courage is contagious. When a brave man takes a stand, the spines of others are often stiffened.
God proved His love on the Cross. When Christ hung, and bled, and died, it was God saying to the world, ’I love you.’
Tears shed for self are tears of weakness, but tears shed for others are a sign of strength.
It is not the body’s posture, but the heart’s attitude that counts when we pray.
